Why should you check the usability of your website?

It is important that your website is user-friendly. If it is not, it is unlikely that the user will successfully navigate your site and complete the task you wish them to complete, whether that is filling out a contact form, downloading a document or buying a product.

We will evaluate your website from a user experience perspective.

This involves a run-through and evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of the major user tasks, a heuristic evaluation, and an assessment of best practices in navigation, user interface design, layout, information architecture (IA), nomenclature and labelling, window and panel behaviour, and many other attributes.

A competitor/peer review is designed to give you an understanding of how their websites are performing in comparison to your key competitors/peers, offering an insight into the positives and negatives of each specific peer/competitor website, to aid you in future web design and development decisions.

This qualitative appraisal is presented in an easy-to-understand visual format supported by commentary explaining our reasoning and recommendations.

This appraisal can also be used to research the UX difference between counties, languages, cultures and even personas, so you can fine tune your web prescience for any or all markets (for multiple countries the appraisal may have to be bought per language)

How it works

The process begins by completing a briefing questionnaire with your Account Manager to clarify your objectives for the appraisal. This briefing will be visible to all the team members involved with delivering the appraisal and is the foundation for all our quality checks.

We will need you to give us access to all your tracking and analytic data (if the website is live).

If we require more data, we may ask for the website to host some analytic applications so we can measure some important user experience/user interface factors. If this is the case, this may increase the delivery time in order to allow for the collection of robust data.

Our web design team will appraise your website from a visual, interactive and usability perspective and compile a list of strengths and weaknesses for your website and your peers/competitor websites. They will also, using visuals of your website pages, highlight areas of interest (e.g. your strongest and weakest elements and areas) with commentary to explain their reasoning.

We will present our findings and recommendations in a PDF report.

Our UX consultancy service is supported by our UX strategist and designers, who will provide you support, in any way you need, from advice on individual components UX to the full spectrum of our your website UX.
