Improve geo-targeting with a South Korean reverse proxy server

Our reverse proxy server is located in South Korea with a South Korean IP, which means that your website will appear to be in South Korea to both users and search engines. Server location and IP are both important parameters in search engines' algorithms and can influence search engine rankings. The reverse proxy server can cache website content, which can reduce website page load time. Our technical team will configure the proxy server so no technical knowledge is needed.

A reverse proxy server in South Korea can help…

When you want your website to appear in South Korea to both search engines and users, without actually hosting the content there.

When you want to improve your website's visibility and rankings in South Korea.

When you want to improve loading times which can improve visitor loyalty, engagement and conversions.

When you have a single content management system that feeds shared data to multiple domains or URLs targeting different countries.

What is a reverse proxy server?

A reverse proxy server is an intermediary computer server which sits between a computer accessing the internet, and the destination website providing the website content. The reverse proxy is controlled by the website supplier.

The reverse proxy is deployed as a web server and behaves like a web server. However, rather than storing the website content in South Korea, the reverse proxy forwards the request to a "parent server" where the content is stored. The reverse proxy server can cache website content, which reduces page load times.

Our reverse proxy server is located in South Korea and has a South Korean IP, which are both important parameters in search engines' algorithms. From a user and search engine perspective, the website appears to be in South Korea.

Our reverse proxy server in South Korea is a Linux HTTP proxy server which has been configured to allow secure sockets layer (SSL) content to pass through.

How it works

Our technical team will set up the reverse proxy for you. We require the following information:

  • The domain/subdomain to host on the proxy server.
  • The "parent server" IP to pull the data from, including the folder (if different from default root folder).
  • Your SSL certificate information, if you have one, or the sign off to arrange this on your behalf, if required. Please note there is an additional charge for the purchase of an SSL certificate.

Once the reverse proxy is set up, you will need to make changes to the DNS settings of the domain/subdomain and we can assist with this, if required.

We continuously monitor our reverse proxy servers to ensure they are running efficiently to avoid any website downtime.

The cancellation notice for the server is 90 days.
