The Latest Insights from International Online Marketing
For a long time, it was the difference between the wealth and living standards of those living in the big cities, and residents of the regions, which stopped many successful projects from developing into the region markets. However, now it seems the economy of the provinces is picking up and narrowing that gap. So it makes the region markets much more appealing to businesses in comparison to the often highly saturated and competitive business environment in the major cities. Plus, the Russian government pays now a lot of attention to stimulating business in regions, providing and offering different support programs, and co-financing, and tax relief schemes, etc. So I think there is potential in the regions and the business is moving more towards the regional markets now. I think, personally, that rural areas are further down the line. At the moment, in the countryside, there is only about 50% internet penetration. And the majority of it, I believe, is mobile internet, with not such a great speed. So I don\'t think the residents of the rural areas will make a responsive audience for the majority of the businesses yet. However, of course it\'ll be always some opportunity for some niche businesses, maybe, such as news portals, and things like that.
