Same-day delivery is extremely appealing to UK online shoppers, according to research by Stuart. When questioned, 72% of online shoppers said they would shop more from a website if it offered same-day delivery, with these people saying they would spend around £168 more on average. Convenience was cited as the most important aspect of delivery by 39% of respondents, compared to 23% who said delivery price was most important. In fact, a staggering two-thirds said they had abandoned an online purchase after they found out that their preferred delivery option was not available. A third said they would choose to buy from a site that offered same-day delivery compared to one that did not, and two thirds said they were willing to pay more for same-day delivery.
