Russia Sees Rise In Online Purchases

The number of transactions has increased by 27%

Russia is experiencing a rise in online purchases. Analysis from the payment company Assist Group compared data from the first half of 2016 to the six months previous, and found a sharp increase in online payments of 12%. Additionally, the data also revealed an even more impressive rise in the number of transactions made online, which equalled a rise of a full 27%. The largest change could be seen in the amount of online payments made for flowers and gifts, which saw a 48% increase from six months ago, whilst food delivery spending increased by 51%. Assist Group noted that whilst winter was usually a more popular time for online shoppers than spring or summer months, the data showed that it did not have an effect on the analysis results.
