Over 25% Of Africans Used Internet In 2016

It has been found that more than 25% of Africans used the internet in 2016. According to a report released during the Africa Regional Internet And Development Dialogue conference, a record 341 million people on the continent used the internet last year, largely due to “increased access to mobile broadband and the development of submarine cables”. However, it also exposed unexploited opportunities in the region, such as integrating ICT in education. The African Regional Bureau Director for the Internet Society said that governments and other “policymakers” had a critical role in ensuring that the “necessary ecosystem” existed in order for this to happen.
