Nepal Internet Penetration Now Over 50%

Nepal's Telecommunications Authority has published a report claiming that more than half its population now use the internet. Conducted by MIS, the data shows that the country now has more than 14 million subscribers to the internet, from its 26.5 million total population. It has also been shown that internet penetration has grown by nearly 20% in the past year, and that most connections to the internet are made on mobile devices through social media sites. Whilst Facebook and Twitter are the two most popular platforms, the country's youth are also frequent users of Viber, which is especially popular amongst those who have family abroad.
