Google Confirms International Links Are Not Spammy

John Mueller, a Webmaster Trends Analyst from Google, has confirmed on Twitter that Google does not consider international and multilingual links as spammy by default. This means that if a website contains a link that points to another website in a different country or language, this is not seen as spammy and does not carry a penalty. Mueller commented that “the quality of links doesn't depend on their nationality or the languages they speak”. This is because links are part of the Penguin algorithm, which is a global algorithm and does not change based on the country or language of the webpage.
