43% of Millennials Shopped By Voice In 2016

A survey conducted by Walker Sands has found that 43% of millennials have made a purchase using a voice-controlled device in the US in the last year. When the study looked at all age groups, it was found that nearly 1 in 5 consumers use voice-controlled devices to shop online. 1,600 adults were questioned in the US for the report, which also found that consumers' biggest worries about buying items through voice were security and privacy issues, as well as a lack of visuals. It was also found that of all those that were questioned, 55% didn't own a voice-controlled device, and had no plans to buy one. This comes as transactional behaviour begins to increase on voice-devices, with the travel company Kayak having just implemented a purchase option on its app through any Amazon Alexa device.
