Twitter has announced the closure of its video-based social media app, Vine. The app, which allows users to film or watch 6 second videos on a loop, launched just a few months before Twitter bought the service in 2013. Whilst Twitter has given no reason for the closure of the app, the announcement comes just after its parent company confirmed that it would be laying-off 9% of its staff.
